The 100% biodegradable plastic badge holder is an interesting product for professionals looking for an ecological alternative to classic rigid badge holders.
ETL, a new eco-responsible additive
This badge holder is mainly made of polypropylene to which an organic additive is added: ETL ( Ecoplastics Technology Limited) which allows the material to degrade faster in nature.
How does matter decompose?
The decomposition takes place through a process that uses anaerobic digestion. At first, the material allows the formation of a biofilm around the product which will promote the colonization of microorganisms. These will be able to settle, feed and attract other microbes. This will allow the polymer chains of the material to break down and the organisms to consume the plastic material. They will leave behind organic waste (humus) and methane.
Thanks to this process, the ETL is accepted by the usual recycling channels and can also be thrown into a conventional trash can.
This biodegradable additive complies with EU Framework Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 and (EU) No. 10/2011 (Plastics Regulation) and tested to ASTM D5511, ASTM D5988 and ASTM D6691.
Thanks to its composition, this badge holder offers the following characteristics:
✔️ Biodegradable
✔️ Recyclable
✔️ Bisphenol A (BPA) free
✔️ May be in contact with food
Standard size badge holder
This badge holder is in horizontal format and can hold 2 cards in CR-80 format (credit card format). Thanks to its opening on 2 sides, you benefit from optimal readability of the information written on each of the 2 badges. The insertion and extraction of the cards are done easily on each side of the badge holder.
The one-piece manufacture of this badge holder ensures great robustness: it is cast in a single block and therefore has no welding or joints.
Finally, its double perforation (round and oblong) allows it to adapt to all the clips and fasteners in our catalogue: strap clips, badge reels or even zipcords.
